The intervention consists in the structural adaptation of two pavilions of the exhibition center of Rho Fiera Milano that will host the speed skating competitions during the Olympic Games of Milan Cortina in 2026.
Specifically, the intervention consists of removing 12 internal pillars and inserting four steel lattice structures, with a light of more than 110 meters, to support the roof.
The intervention will guarantee the functionality of the pavilions during the fair events whose realization of the works is bound within precise time windows. The realization provides specific constructive solutions aimed at lifting up without cranes lattice structures pre-assembled in blocks ensuring the transfer of loads from the existing structure and subsequent removal of the pillars.
